Best dressed at the Academy Awards 2019

Best dressed ladies at the Academy Awards 2019 on 30somethingurbangirl.com

Yesterday was the annual Academy Awards Gala with beautiful and colorful gowns as well as impressive performances.

I enjoyed browsing the photos of the red carpet so much. Most of the gowns were so bright, vivid, and rainbow-colored. Many ladies wore a shade of pink, but there were pretty red, blue, yellow and white gowns too. And not to mention the breathtaking jewelry. Oh, and big bows also conquered the red carpet 🙂

This collection of my favorite 15 ladies doesn’t contain any black dress which is never happened before.

My top five best-dressed women

I adore the always chic and stylish Helen Mirren on this event as well. This bright pink color complemented her look so well such as the modest neckline, and long sleeves. She looked fantastic as usual.

My second best is Kiki Layne in a light pink Versace column gown. I totally love the color and the simple line of the dress with the big bow as a twist. She looked statuesque.

The third place goes to the lovely Emilia Clarke who wore a sparkling Balmain dress. I like the color and the interesting origami-like design of this gown. Simple and stunning. The metallic and icy lilac shade is perfect with her complexion.

My fourth pick is Michelle Yeoh and her fairytale Elie Saab dress. What a gorgeous ball gown and princess-like style, and those sequin details! I cannot stop looking 🙂

I also like to mention that although the warmer color of the skirt couldn’t compliment her Deep Winter face, it’s so smart that the top half of her dress is silver which is flattering.

And finally, Oscar winner Regina King is my fifth favorite. She looked fabulous again in this white Oscar de la Renta gown. Her Chopard cuff bracelet was also impressive. What a brilliant choice for her big night!

Ten more glamorous women from the red carpet

Let’s go from the lighter dresses to the darker ones 🙂

Here is Amy Adams who wore an also simple yet fabulous gown by Versace. As I read, her stunning necklace was a vintage piece from Cartier. She truly evoked the old-Hollywood glam as usual.

Lovely organizer queen, Marie Kondo also attended the Oscars Gala, for the first time. She looked charming in this cool pink Jenny Packham dress. I loved the chic floral embellishments, which made the dress so cute and feminine.

And here comes one of the brightest colored dresses on Angela Bassett. She wore a vivid pink Reem Acra design with considerable bow-like shoulder detail. I adore how this color complements her skin tone.

And here comes another dress with a bow 🙂 now on the back. Laura Marano wore a two-toned Celia Kritharioti gown. I think this color combination looked glamorous with her probably Winter seasonal colors. I especially adore the green clutch that she added to this color mix.

Yellow is not a typical color on the red carpet, so I find Constance Wu’s Custom Versace gown quite refreshing. The design of the dress and the shade looked fantastic on her.

Jennifer Hudson was also fantastic in this red and ruffles-heavy Elie Saab gown. Her figure looked pretty in this mermaid style design, and the shade also complimented her look well.

Charlize Theron wowed me not just with this darker hair color, but with her Dior dress, and stunning jewelry too. This light blue color enhanced her look great, and I’m a huge fan of open-back designs, but I cannot stop staring her Bulgari necklace, and bracelet. I would accept her emerald and sapphire earrings as well any time 🙂

I like Tina Fay’s royal blue Custom Vera Wang dress as well. The pleated and strapless design is so timeless and elegant. And this color matched to her complexion so well.

Octavia Spencer was stunning again in this midnight blue Christian Siriano design. She usually wears this ball gown style with off the shoulders, but it wraps her figure great all the time.

And last, but not least, another favorite was Laura Dern in an unsual colored Rodarte dress. This gown also has a timeless design which went well with the bold and breathtaking diamond necklace by Harry Winston.
