The Pantone color of this year is Marsala. This is a soft red-brown shade that fits well in Autumn or Spring seasonal color women’s wardrobe or home.
In the introducing press release, Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of Pantone Color Institute, said this about Marsala:
“Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding
confidence and stability. Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that
draws us in to its embracing warmth.”
The organization also recommended a couple of color combinations because this warm hue is “highly compatible with amber, umber and golden yellows, greens in both turquoise and teal, and blues in the more vibrant range”. – most of them are pretty Autumn colors 🙂
When you search for Marsala on Pinterest you will find many photos with burgundy but here are the “real” shades of it.
In the above color inspiration, I also paired the color of the year with darker and soft red shades that are close to light burgundy or oxblood. These hues can be worn by Summer and Winter seasonal color women as well.
I will create lovely color pairings soon and of course outfit ideas for every seasonal color palettes.
