Yesterday was the annual Met Gala, officially known as the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala, and unofficially known as The Oscars Red Carpet of Fashion. This year’s theme was ‘White Tie and Decorations’ as the new show of the museum is dedicated to Charles James.
I was so excited to see excellent gowns by the A-list celebrities because White Tie is a kind of secure dress code for stars.
“White tie is the most formal dress code. The chief components for men are the black dress coat commonly known as an evening tailcoat, whitebow tie, white waistcoat and starched wing collar shirt, while women wear a suitable dress for the occasion, such as a ball gown. Depending on the formality of the event, bare shoulders may or may not be acceptable. Shawls and long gloves are common accessories. Women’s gloves should be white and upper-length/opera-length.”

There were many beautiful and exciting dresses, but several exciting choices as well. Naturally, I just show the best and my favorite gowns from the red carpet of the Met Gala.
My top picks:
I loved the rainbow colors of the event – I could find yellow, red, burgundy, pink, purple, green, blue, black and white, gold and silver shades with breathtaking cuts and styles. As I saw the photos, I can tell that Oscar de la Renta won the imaginary designer contest with a shared second place between Marchesa and Zac Posen.
