ABOUT ME

Welcome to 30 something urban girl

This is a place where I can help you find your best colors and flattering style so you can create a chic, unique, and personality-guided wardrobe that makes you shine every day.

Be colorful. Be confident. Be happy.

You are at the perfect corner of the internet if you’re looking for the answers to the above questions because I’m not just writing about them but also about many other fashion and style-related topics.

HI, I’M AGNES — let’s get to know each other, shall we?

I turned 30 in December 2012, which was a bit shocking, so I decided to start this blog to spice up my life.

I have loved clothing and fashion since early childhood when I dressed myself and my Barbies in matching and chic garments. Just look at this typical kindergarten photo of me ☺

When I became older, I started reading women’s magazines on a daily basis and collected many articles from them.

I became absolutely engaged in fashion when I became a passionate fan of Sex and the City.

In 2011, I found Polyvore, a marvelous and addictive site where I can express my creativity by creating awesome outfits and occasionally home décor sets.

How did I meet with seasonal color analysis?

In the middle of the 1990s, my mom borrowed a book written by Mary Spillane: The Complete Style Guide, which changed my mind about clothing. This was the time when I first met with seasonal color analysis and the ‘Color Me Beautiful’ system.

I realized I was a Winter type, so I stopped wearing light brown and pale colors. I reorganized my wardrobe and bought some dark (black, gray, navy blue, or dark gray-brown) and vivid (red, green, purple, or pink) clothes. It was easy for me because I love these colors!

During high school and my twenties, I developed a distinctive style that my friends easily recognized; they called it ‘Agnes-y.’ When shopping with my gals, they can easily decide which clothes suit me or I would wear.

Soon, I imagined myself working as an image and color consultant, and my dream became true when I got my certification after a 10-week-long training in February 2013.

I am committed to helping you find a suitable style according to your seasonal palette, face, and body shape. So don’t look further for tips and advice.

I believe that every woman can emphasize her true beauty with the right color shades and look fabulous every day.

What else can you read on 30 something urban girl?

I love browsing red carpet and street-style photos, so I usually create best-dressed lists and get outfit ideas from ladies worldwide.

Color can be used not just in our wardrobes but also in our home décor: as I observed, our seasonal palette reflects our decorating colors.

Everybody needs a little courage from time to time, so I collect and publish awesome quotes and meaningful wisdom.

At age 3, my favorite pair of shoes was a red and patent leather one, which transformed into a more beautiful and designed pair of high heels for today. After I drew them, Dorothy came to my mind. She also wears ruby slippers on her way to find the Wizard of Oz.

Put on my magic red heels and follow the online ‘yellow brick road’ to my wonderland.

I hope you enjoy it!

XOXO,

Agnes

  1. Hey, I like your work here and the design of this website very much. I myself try to start out as an image consultant and was wondering where did you get your certification from? Which system were you taught in? Could you recommend any Association or website for colour and image consulants?

  2. I love your illustration on the banner. Best to you and I look forward to visiting your site. I was first attracted to it by learning my colors. Well done!

  3. Hi Dannii,
I'm really glad you like my blog 🙂 thank you so much for reading.

Here are my thoughts about the girl you mentioned:
    1. dress is feminine because of the high waistline, the mini skirt part and of course the lace textile,
    2. the high heels make her figure more elongated and fragile,
    3. the accessories are classic, moderate and chic + the gold creates a beautiful contrast with the dress,
    4. and finally I think her hairstyle is also classy and ladylike 🙂

I hope that I could help.
